With excellent performance during the course in 2010, Gustavo got an "outstanding" mark in the defense by video-conference of his work about Consequences and technical and economic viability of a potential program of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes in Ecuador. His work was tutored by Osvaldo Azpitarte, PhD in Nuclear Engineering and Professor of the Postgraduate Course. The Evaluation Committee was conformed by Raúl Racana, PhD former President of the Board of the ARN-Nuclear Regulatory Authority of Argentina and also Professor of the Course as well a by two top-level officials of the CNEA- National Atomic Energy Commission of Argentina, Eng. Norberto Coppari, current Planning Manager, and Capt. (R) Roberto Ornstein. The event -which took place in the NPSGlobal Foundation's premises, Buenos Aires- was attended by general public and students of other promotions, who will defend their final works in the coming months. Gustavo has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the ESPE-Escuela Politécnica del Ejército de Ecuador, and another degree in Armament Engineering from the Escuela Politécnica del Ejército de Chile. He also got a Master degree in Project Management (Universidad de Chile), besides other upper specializations in Ecuador, the United States, and Argentina. The aim of the Regional Postgraduate Course is to train specialists in international security, disarmament, and non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction through the coverage of multiple disciplines involved by analyzing the national, regional and global impacts of issues involved. The Postgraduate Course has a highest level teaching staff. Registration is currently open, the Course starts on April 9, 2012.
